The suit everyone will remember
Bespoke wedding suits, avenue Hoche, Paris 8th.
A wedding suit is worn for a day and looked at for a lifetime. I receive the groom, then his best men and his family, and with them I compose a single silhouette: each to their own measure, all in harmony, from the first meeting to the final fitting, a few days before you say ‘I do’.
01 · Bespoke
Why a bespoke wedding suit?
Because this suit is lived in from morning until dawn, in front of every lens. Cut on your own pattern, it moves with you as you hold out your hand for the ring; the collar sits close through the dancing; the trousers break cleanly on the shoe until the last glass. Then it will come out again, for a dinner, for another ceremony, a quiet witness to that day. Since 2005, I have dressed grooms with the same rigour I bring to the rest of the year.
Before the first cut, the whole wedding party takes its place on the screen of my salon: the groom, his best men, the fathers, the family, and the bride if she wishes. Each has their own silhouette and outfit; a cloth, a lining or a silk is applied to one person, to all the best men or to the whole party, in a single gesture. We arrange and harmonise until the photograph is right: you see the wedding day before a single piece is cut.
02 · The codes
Morning coat, tuxedo or three-piece: what to wear for your wedding?
The hour and the place decide what is worn, far more than fashion does. These are the codes I share with every groom, from the first meeting.
| The moment | The groom | Best men and fathers | The proper details |
|---|---|---|---|
| Town hall, civil ceremony by day | Two- or three-piece suit: midnight blue, pearl grey, ivory in summer | A sister cloth, a shade more sober | Silk tie, a flower in the buttonhole |
| Religious ceremony by day | The morning coat, or a grey three-piece for a less solemn ceremony | Morning coats for the fathers, three-pieces for the best men | Cravat or silver-grey tie, double-breasted waistcoat, cufflinks |
| Evening reception, dinner, ball | The tuxedo, black or midnight blue | Dinner suits, or dark suits as the invitation states | Self-tie bow tie, bib-front shirt, cummerbund or low-cut waistcoat |
| The grandest evenings | White tie: the tailcoat, or tails | White tie, like the groom | White piqué waistcoat and bow tie, wing collar |
| Countryside, seaside, summer | A three-piece in linen, tropical wool or mohair; or an odd jacket | A family of colours: sand, sage, sky blue | Tie optional, suede shoes |
03 · The groom
The groom's attire, one by one
Each outfit answers to the hour and the tone of the day. Cuts and construction details are on the bespoke suit page.
-
The morning coat
The most ceremonial of daytime dress: a one-button coat whose rounded fronts sweep away towards the back, a double-breasted waistcoat in dove grey, buff or ivory, and grey-and-black striped trousers worn high, on braces. A silk cravat or a silver-grey tie completes it.
-
The three-piece
The soundest choice for a long day: the waistcoat holds the line when the jacket falls open, from the town hall to dinner. Single-breasted for restraint, double-breasted for ceremony; tropical wool or kid mohair in summer, flannel in winter, linen in the country.
-
The tuxedo
For an evening ceremony and dinner: satin or grosgrain facings, a shawl collar or a peak lapel, a silk braid down the trouser leg. In midnight blue, it looks blacker than black under evening light. See the bespoke tuxedo.
-
White tie
For the grandest evenings: the coat cut short at the front and extended into two tails, the white piqué waistcoat and bow tie, the wing collar. The rarest dress of all, and the most demanding to cut.
04 · The styles
Which style for your wedding party?
Four moods, four ways of matching the groom and his best men. Each is only a starting point: the cloth, the colour and the cut are decided with you, and laid out on the configurator before any cloth is cut.
-
Classic, from the town hall to dinner
The groom in a midnight-blue three-piece, a silver-grey tie and a flower on the lapel; his best men in mid grey, with navy ties and white pocket squares. The surest pairing, and one that carries the whole day.
-
Country, the garden and linen
An ivory three-piece in linen and wool for the groom, with a sage knitted tie; his best men in sage green, open-necked, in tan leather shoes. The lightness of a summer in the country.
-
Daytime ceremony, the morning coat
A charcoal morning coat, a dove-grey double-breasted waistcoat and striped trousers for the groom; his best men in pearl-grey three-pieces with sky-blue ties. The codes of a formal religious ceremony.
-
Evening, black tie
The groom in a midnight-blue velvet tuxedo with satin lapels; his best men in black dinner suits, their bow ties tied in the same silk. For dinners and balls that end at dawn.
05 · Weddings
How do you dress the wedding party in harmony with the groom?
The wedding party starts with the groom: what he wears sets the tone, and the others answer it without copying it. For the best men, a family of colours, a sister cloth, shared details: the same lining, the same tie silk, the same flower on the lapel. For the fathers, a quieter note: a deeper grey, a calmer blue, a waistcoat that echoes the groom's.
I measure every one of them, and each is given a pattern of their own; each may choose a collection, and the whole party still holds together. Fittings are grouped in my salon, to keep everyone's diary simple. On the salon screen, our group configurator sets the groom and his party side by side, each to their own measurements: a cloth or a lining can be applied to one person or to the whole group in a single gesture. You see the photograph before anything is cut. If the bride chooses a bespoke suit for women, her outfit can join them in the scene.
The wedding party package. From two best men, each receives his bespoke two-piece suit and shirt, for €980 per best man, cloth included; the groom chooses the two-piece with its shirt, at €1,480, or the three-piece with two shirts, one of them complimentary, at €1,880.
06 · The details
What details belong on a wedding suit?
The kind seen only at close quarters, and remembered long after.
- The embroidered datethe wedding day, your initials or the couple's, embroidered inside the jacket in the thread of your choice.
- The Milanese buttonholethe house signature across every collection: a raised silk cord on the left lapel, cut to take the groom's flower.
- The liningBemberg or silk, in the colours of the day, or in a pattern chosen for the occasion.
- The shirta wing collar for white tie and the morning coat, an Italian collar for the three-piece, double cuffs and mother-of-pearl buttons: see the bespoke shirt.
Embroidered in relief over a cord, the Milanese buttonhole is the house signature, found in every collection. Here in blue, white and red, on a charcoal flannel.
Along the lapel, small blue stitches echo the stripe of the cloth. From the Premium collection upwards, this pick stitching can be done by hand, depending on the collection.
From the Premium collection upwards, the collar and shoulders are set by hand: the lapel rolls naturally and the jacket hugs the nape of the neck.
The blue of the fine stripe returns in the buttonhole and in the pick stitching. Matching the colours, from thread to cloth, is possible from the Découverte collection upwards.
Beneath the jacket, a bespoke shirt with a crisp, structured white collar. Height, spread, point length: each collar is drawn in the salon, to suit your face.
Paisley, floral or graphic: the lining is chosen in Bemberg or silk, from the atelier's swatch books. A boldness kept inside, revealed only when the jacket opens.
From saffron yellow to burgundy, a range of plain linings to match the inside to the cloth, the tie or the buttonhole. Colour matching is available from the Découverte collection upwards.
Light, dark or variegated, buttons are laid on the cloth before they are chosen. With the thread and the buttonhole, they make up the final combination of the jacket.
Prince of Wales check, plain or herringbone: the cloth sets the tone, and every other choice is built around it, from the lining to the buttonhole thread.
A lapel buttonhole embroidered in a burgundy matched to the lining. Coloured buttonholes and colour matching are available from the Découverte collection upwards: a detail that signs the piece without shouting it.
From the Premium collection upwards, the collar and shoulders are set by hand: the jacket hugs the nape of the neck, moves with you and falls with greater ease.
The inside pocket closes with a triangular tab and a mother-of-pearl button, beneath white piping. A discreet touch, designed to keep wallet and phone in their place.
A fine white piping outlines the facing and follows every curve of the lining. The contrast shows only when the jacket opens, like a confidence.
Here, a burgundy paisley jacquard. In Bemberg or silk, the lining is chosen from the atelier's swatch books: plain for restraint, patterned for boldness, always matched to the cloth.
A motto, a date, initials: embroidered above the inside pocket, they are for you alone. Here, “Work Hard be Humble”, in white thread on the lining.
Touch a gold point to look closer.
The accessories
A tie or bow tie in the same silk for the groom and his best men, a hand-rolled pocket square, cufflinks: each accessory is composed with the outfit, and the silks come from Dolcepunta. You will find them among our bespoke accessories.

08 · The first meeting
What happens at the first meeting?
The first meeting is a conversation. It is complimentary, and takes place in my salon on avenue Hoche or by video call; should you wish, I come to you. You tell me about the date, the venue, the time of the ceremony, the number of best men and the atmosphere you have in mind. Bring whatever inspires you: a photograph of the venue, the colour of the flowers, a picture of an outfit.
Come as a couple, if you like: from that day on, your suit is matched to your bride-to-be's dress, or to the bespoke suit I compose for her. From all this I draw two or three directions of cloth and cut, which I set straight away on the configurator, wedding party included. Best men who live far away begin by video call, then come to the atelier to be measured during a stay in Paris. I look after you myself, from the first conversation to the morning of the wedding.
09 · The timeline
When should you start your wedding suit?
Ideally three to six months before the date: time to choose the cloth without haste, to bring the whole wedding party into harmony, and to approach the day in perfect calm.
- Three to six months beforethe first conversation, at the salon, by video call or, should you wish, at your home: the date, the venue, the time, the tone of the day, the number of best men.
- Nextan hour on avenue Hoche for your measurements and the choice of cloths; then the best men and the fathers are measured.
- Three to six weeksthe making, with two to three fittings for each person, grouped in my salon.
- At least two days beforethe final fitting at the atelier, pin in hand; then I hand over each outfit in its garment bag, with its accessories, ready for the morning of the wedding.
If the date comes sooner, the suit can be made on an express schedule, in three weeks, at no extra charge: call me as soon as the date is set, and I will tell you which cloths can be ready in time.

Frequently asked questions
What we are asked
How much does a bespoke wedding suit cost in Paris?
A bespoke wedding suit starts at €1,480, cloth included, as a two-piece with its bespoke shirt; the three-piece, with two shirts, one of them complimentary, is €1,880. For the best men, the wedding party package dresses each in a bespoke two-piece suit and shirt for €980, from two best men. The price then follows the cloth and the collection chosen, up to full bespoke in the Sartoriale collection; it is set with you, at the salon, cloth in hand.
How long before the wedding should I order my suit?
Ideally three to six months before the date. The making takes three to six weeks; that head start lets you choose the cloth without haste, bring the whole wedding party into harmony and schedule the fittings calmly. If the date is closer, the suit can be made express in three weeks, at no extra charge: call me, and I will tell you which cloths can be ready in time.
Can you dress the best men and the fathers?
Yes. Best men, fathers, brothers: each is measured, receives his own pattern and appears beside the groom in our group configurator. From two best men, the wedding party package includes the bespoke two-piece suit and shirt, at €980 each. Fittings are grouped in my salon, to keep everyone's diary simple.
Tuxedo, morning coat or three-piece: what should I wear for my wedding?
It all depends on the hour and the tone of the day. The morning coat belongs to very formal daytime ceremonies; the tuxedo to evenings that call for formal dress; the three-piece, the most frequent choice, carries the whole day, from the town hall to dinner. We decide together at the first meeting, and the table on this page sets out the codes.
Can the wedding date be embroidered in the suit?
Yes. The wedding date, your initials or the couple's are embroidered inside the jacket, in the thread of your choice. It is a detail only you know, and one you will rediscover every time you wear the suit, long after the wedding day.
And if my figure changes before the wedding?
Your suit follows. The final fitting takes place shortly before the date, at the atelier, precisely to take in whatever has changed: a difference of three or four kilos is adjusted there, included in the price, and your pattern is updated. Let me know if you expect a greater change: I will schedule the fittings accordingly.
Can the bride-to-be also be dressed by you?
Yes. For the bride who prefers a trouser suit, a jacket or a women's tuxedo to a dress, I cut her outfit on her own pattern, in harmony with the groom's: the same cloth, a shared silk, an echoing colour. She joins the configurator scene, beside the wedding party.
Do you travel for a wedding outside Paris?
Yes. I travel for weddings in Monaco, the south of France, Belgium or Switzerland; the terms of the journey are agreed with you. For a wedding abroad, in Dubai, London or New York, the measurements are taken when you are in Paris, or when I travel to your city; best men who live far away begin by video call before coming to the atelier.
